I'm Going On An Adventure
Hey you guys! So I decided to do this blog as a way to keep everybody in touch with what's new in my life and also to let there be an opportunity to show what God is using my life for in hope that it is a testimony to him. I'll also share some cool videos from my favorite pastors, and share bible study notes. Who knows, maybe I'll end up trying to share some "Introduction to College Life" tips for the guys who are just now graduating high school and are preparing for their first major step towards young adulthood. There's so much I could talk about in my first post but I thought I would just give a quick summary about this chapter in my life coming up.
Summer Beach Project
Well this is probably the biggest news I can share. Some of you already know and some of you are about learn. I've been raising money and working 40+ hours a week here lately so I have the money to go on this discipleship/ministry trip known as Summer Beach Project. It is a program run by Campus Outreach, a wonderful college ministry group, and the idea is pretty simple. You basically go down and live on the beach for a couple of months, get a job, work at least 40 hours a week, do a good bit of bible studies and classes, and then just focus on growing in your relationship with Christ. This will be my first time going and I couldn't be more excited. I ask that you guys pray for me while I'm away and pray that God uses this time to help transform me into the man He is calling me to be.
Jacksonville State University
It is an absolute honor to say that the next chapter of my life will take place in Jacksonville, Alabama while I pursue my bachelor's degree in Education at Jacksonville State University. There are so many doors being opened right now and some are being closed but in the end I thank God for what He is doing with my life and I pray that no matter where I go that I can be His vessel and tool for Him to use.
Job Opportunities
When it comes to jobs, it has definitely been a wild ride. When I was at Troy I was a manager and coaching assistant for the football team, then I volunteer coach for a local high school helping in whatever way I could, and then money got tight so I had to get a job that actually paid so I've spent a year now in fast food. Yeah, I never saw that coming. There's a chance I might get back in the football stuff with a job opening up that could really help pay for my tuition. I applied for it but I haven't heard anything so just keep me in your prayers for God's will to be done.
Special Thanks
I never try to be too fancy on how I talk to people so really I just want to thank everybody for letting me be a part of their lives. From friends, to family, to the guys who gave me a chance to work with them. I am thankful every day for every single one of you guys. I pray that God will bless you and be with you through life.
I'll try to get my first bible study notes up soon as I can as I'm diving into the book of Acts and the first thing I learn is the "Preparation to Witness" and I was amazed at how quick it was applied to our lives even today. It's some really exciting stuff and I can't wait to share with you!
